Black & LoBello would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Back to School Backpack Drive, benefiting students at Hyde Park Middle School. With the gracious help of those who donated, we were able to provide backpacks stuffed with school supplies to students who are disadvantaged and lack the necessary supplies to begin the school year. We would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Black & LoBello, the office of Don Gilbreth, Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, Dave Hall, CPA and Susan Brager of Berkshire Hathaway for their generous donations. Also we would like to thank Stacy Shavinksy-Haynes, 6th grade counselor at Hyde Park Middle School The Academy of Math and Science who has been a great help throughout the drive.
Hyde Park Middle School
The Hyde Park Academy of Science and Mathematics offers a specialized academic program for academically talented and high-achieving students in a diverse setting. The program serves students who require an academically demanding and challenging curriculum in the four core content areas: mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies. Hyde Park also serves as a Title 1 school. Title I is the federal education law that provides funding to elementary and secondary schools for programs and services to help economically disadvantaged students to succeed. The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to reach State learning standards. Title I is intended to help close the gap in academic achievement between students in different ethnic and income groups.
