Tisha Black-Chernine is a founding partner of Black & LoBello. Practicing primarily in the areas of complex corporate and real estate transactions, her focus includes corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, real property purchases and sales, real property entitlement, development and construction. Ms. Black-Chernine also works extensively in the area of hotel/casino business operations as general counsel for multiple hotel/resort/casino properties.
A native Las Vegan, Ms. Black-Chernine graduated from Boston University in 1993, receiving dual bachelor's degrees in English and History. She then completed law school in two years, and was awarded her Juris Doctor. She is a member of the American Bar Association and was noted in Who's Who Among American Law Students and Who's Who Among American Lawyers. In 1996, Ms. Black-Chernine was admitted to practice law in the state of Nevada, United States District Court, District of Nevada and the Eighth Judicial District Court. She is a member of the Nevada State Bar Association and Clark County Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the United States Supreme Court Historical Society, a Board Member of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, a faculty member of the National Business Institute and has been a featured attorney and business owner in the Nevada Business Press and In Business Las Vegas.
Ms. Black-Chernine has taught seminars in the areas of premises liability, risk management, landlord/tenant law, Real Estate Agency, Ethics and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She has published several articles in Broker Agent Magazine and CCIM Perspectives. She served two years on the Spring Valley Town Board and continues to serve on several advisory panels as well as community boards including St. Jude's Ranch for Children.
Ms. Black-Chernine has closed over $750,000,000 in land acquisitions since co-founding Black & LoBello in May 2000.
