Ronald E. Gillette joined Black & LoBello in 2008. Mr. Gillette practices in all areas of business law, including corporate formation and governance, transactions in real estate, construction, litigation, and insurance defense, including premises liability and personal injury defense.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gillette primarily concentrated in the areas of real estate development and construction law during the past ten years, having served as Vice President and General Counsel to two privately held homebuilding and land development companies, Rhodes Homes and American Premiere Homes. In that capacity, Mr. Gillette obtained extensive experience in all disciplines within the field of real estate law, including transactions, entitlements, regulatory compliance, and litigation, as well as other areas related to the real estate and homebuilding industry.
Previous to Mr. Gillette’s tenure in real estate development, his practice included real estate transactions and litigation, including land acquisitions and dispositions, mechanics’ liens and contract disputes and landlord/tenant matters at a local law firm. In addition, he practiced in the area of insurance defense, handling construction defect, jobsite injury, slip and fall premises defense, and auto accident cases. Mr. Gillette’s legal career began with his appointment as Law Clerk to the Honorable Donald M. Mosley, Eighth Judicial District Court.
A native Nevadan, Mr. Gillette received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy, from Loyola Marymount University in 1989. Mr. Gillette then received his Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Mr. Gillette was licensed and admitted to practice before all State and Federal courts of Nevada in January 1994.
